Load the vehicle following safety rules and proper vehicle use.

• Distribute weight evenly
• Do not exceed maximum axle weights
• Secure luggage in holds
• Check height of loaded vehicle

Secure the vehicle and its contents against theft and tampering.

• Lock all doors and luggage holds
• Check seals on cargo areas
• Report suspicious packages
• Secure cab when leaving vehicle

Prevent trafficking in illegal immigrants and criminal activity.

• Check vehicle before and after boarding
• Secure all compartments and lockers
• Report suspicious activity
• Follow operator security procedures

Assess and respond to emergency situations appropriately.

• Know location of fire extinguisher and first aid kit
• Understand emergency exit procedures
• Call 999 when needed
• Keep passengers calm and informed

Demonstrate a thorough daily walkaround safety check.

• Check from driver's seat first
• Inspect inside passenger area
• Walk around exterior systematically
• Record and report all defects in writing
